Moen Kitchen Sink Faucet Installation

Installing a Moen kitchen sink faucet is a relatively simple task that can be completed in under an hour. With a few basic tools and a little bit of know-how, you can have your new faucet up and running in no time. Here are the steps on how to install a Moen kitchen sink faucet:

Before You Start

Before you begin, gather the following tools and materials:

Adjustable wrench
Phillips head screwdriver
Flat head screwdriver
Plumber's putty
Teflon tape
New Moen kitchen sink faucet

Step 1: Remove the Old Faucet

Turn off the water supply to your sink. Then, use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the old faucet in place. Once the nuts are loose, you can pull the old faucet out of the sink. Be sure to clean the surface of the sink where the new faucet will be installed.

Step 2: Install the New Faucet

Apply a bead of plumber's putty to the underside of the new faucet's base. Then, insert the faucet into the hole in the sink. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the nuts that hold the faucet in place. Be sure not to overtighten the nuts, as this could damage the faucet.

Step 3: Connect the Water Lines

Wrap the threads of the water supply lines with Teflon tape. Then, screw the water supply lines into the corresponding ports on the bottom of the faucet. Be sure to tighten the water supply lines securely, but do not overtighten them.

Step 4: Test the Faucet

Turn on the water supply to your sink. Check for any leaks around the base of the faucet or the water supply lines. If you find any leaks, tighten the corresponding nuts or water supply lines until the leaks stop.

Step 5: Install the Handle

Insert the handle into the hole in the top of the faucet. Tighten the set screw on the side of the handle using the flat head screwdriver. Be sure not to overtighten the set screw, as this could damage the handle.
