Kitchen Sink Clogged Past Trap

Step 5: Reinstall the Trap
Once the drain line is clear, you can reinstall the trap. To reinstall the trap, place the trap over the drain line and tighten the slip nuts. Make sure that the slip nuts are tight enough to prevent water from leaking, but not so tight that you damage the trap.
Step 6: Turn On the Water Supply
Once the trap is reinstalled, you can turn on the water supply. To turn on the water supply, turn the shut-off valves counterclockwise. Once the water supply is on, run water into the sink to test the drain. If the water drains properly, the clog has been removed.
