Installing a P-Trap for a Bathroom Sink

Materials Needed

P-trap
Slip nuts (2)
Washers (2)
Plumber's putty or Teflon tape
Wrench

Instructions

Place a bead of plumber's putty or wrap a few layers of Teflon tape around the threads of the slip nuts.
Screw the slip nuts onto the ends of the P-trap.
Place a washer on each slip nut and tighten the nuts until they are snug.
Insert the P-trap into the drainpipe and tighten the nuts until the P-trap is secure.
Connect the other end of the P-trap to the sink drain.
Turn on the water and check for leaks.

Troubleshooting
